That's right, darlings, he goes by the name of Bible.

Bible is Rane's younger brother. Don't be decieved by his looks, he is around three hundred years old (289, mayhap?).

Bible's most striking feature is his extremely humanlike appearance. Nothing, and I mean, absolutely nothing in his looks would betray his heritage (unlike his brother Rane, who doesn't have a mouth and is faintly greenish... yay for obscure references >.> ). The story of his looks goes back to his mother. Before Bible's father married her, there had been some rumors of human blood in her family. Partially to stop them, and thus to gain a rather rich and powerful ally in demon court, Bible's dad married the maiden. Everything went well with the first child, Rane. Not only was he a perfectly normal demon, he was also incredibly powerful in two realms. But five centuries later, when the couple had another child, the rumors were proven true. Bible (real name Rohel) looked as human as... humanly possible. The demon society was shocked, and no one could figure out why instead of being diluted by centuries and generations, the human blood was purified in this case. Completely losing her head over the misfortune, the boy's mother commits ritualistic suicide, partially because she's unable to deal with the shame of it all, and in part because she was afraid he'd be powerless, just as any regular human. As a result, Bible, not powerless from the beginning recieves a rather big boost from his mother.

Aanyway, from the beginning, the boy's had a tough life. He never knew his mother, and was always the subject of mockery. That's how he earned his nickname, Bible . To his race, nothing screams "human" louder than that word. Weathering about forty years of this in the demon dimension, he finally mentally sent everybody to hell, and went to to live on Earth. Fortunately, nobody knows who he is, and all he's got to do is move once in a while, so that people don't get suspicious of lack of aging (on Earth he doesn't use his real name, and goes simply by "Bible").

Here's where we come to his abilities. Bible is phenomenal in the Thought realm. The only one to give thoughts a fully corporeal form, he'd be the wrong person to piss off. Any thought, in theory, could be made into a physical object. Well, not nearly as straighforward as you think. A thought of bunnies, for example, cannot be turned into actual factual bunnies. However, the more abstract aspects of that thought (say, it brings you comfort) can be given physical shape (you could turn it into a warm blanket, start a fire with it, the list goes on). Thus, Bible makes weapons out of his thoughts, furniture, kitchen utencils, whatever have you. He's also able to surround himself with an invisible shield that won't allow anyone/anything to puncture, crush, break or otherwise injure him. Pretty neat, actually. This ability is believed to exist because of his mother's suicide.

He's a serious boy, who (for obvious reasons) distances himself from humans. Only person he's close to is Irene, and he's beginning to fall in love with her. Bad idea, since humans don't last more than eighty years on average. He doesn't like his own demon kind too much either, for the exception of his brother, Rane. To his brother's great dismay, Bible naturally has no interest in becoming the demon king.

Pencil sketch. Inks and colours in Painter, background and text in Photoshop. In retrospect, I should've made the shadows darker... more defined. Bah.

I'm not entirely sure how, but you seem to have pulled off that color combination. :O

I would think that he'd get fewer strange looks using the name "Rohel" than "Bible"... unless "Rohel" is short for "Rohelxtoiwerlakjoiuvajkherldskubleemak" accompanied by a burst of psychic energy that would cause fatal nosebleeds in humans.

"Rohel" is a distinctly demon-sounding name to humans, so you're WRONG!!! They'd lynch him in a manner of hours. =b Besides, he avoids the ultra-religious centers anyway. =b

Oh... so we're not dealing with the "normal" world, here. I should have guessed, judging by his clothes... the only people he'd blend in with in the real world is Cirque du Soleil. XD

Ahm. Maybe I'll prod myself into a comic with this guy. -.- Probably won't have the oomph, though. x.x

I'd imagine he'd definitely get a few odd looks for not aging!

You know, I really, REALLY like how in depth you go.

So, do you do comics or something? Or just like making stories? Either way, I'm absolutely fascinated.

Well, a comic would be tempting, but I know I don't have the oomph to carry it out. Plus, I hardly know where this'd go in terms of plot. =b And as for being thorough, it just bothers me if I'm not. =b

referring to the story and such, very intricate detail and very intelligent ideas. i have gathered theres a story behind this you have written? i love the whole story with the name thing, i thought you were going to say something really done like "the word bible means (insert meaning) in (insert imaginary language)" but the human thing, im blown away, im gonna read the story now. well not right now, tomorrow when im more awake

Wow. Thanks, I'm glad you like the nickname explanation. =b
But I'm afraid there's no story. I'm no writer, just an artist. ^^; I was just sitting one day, and then it hit me "MAN, I SHOULD CREATE A CHARACTER NAMED "BIBLE"!!!"... So then I just tried to rationalize why the hell he'd be called that. =b And to be honest, Rane just looked like he'd be Bible's brother. =b

you should definitely write the story behind the characters, or get someone to do it for you, that would be an interesting way round, illustrations first. i would even do it myself if a) i had the time b) i was a good enough writer c) i didnt think it would be better for you to do it with someone you know who might not decide to up and leave with the story and a number of other reasons.
