Bg Practice12.7.2

Another bg practice… the trees in the bottom middle gave me so much trouble while I was figuring out how to not destroy them. The file even crashed on me once, erasing a good three hours of work - which actually turned out for the better, because it wasn't very good.
In all honesty, that's the best thing sometimes - to erase everything to hell and start over.

While working on this, I used a different method for aligning things - I tabbed quickly between the canvas and the reference in a browser window aligned underneath. That sort of makes me feel like a cheater-cheater-pumpkin-eater, and I don't think I'll do it for my next one.

Not every single detail is present, but this feels very much done to me. Or maybe I'm just ready to throw in the towel? :]

More studies to come, though! I've a couple of photos I'll practice from again. Someday, I hope to be able to paint things like this more or less from scratch.
