I'm delving deeper into the relationship between Nulmiril and her near-damn-perfect younger sis, Liniriel. Not sure how it comes across, but Nulmiril doesn't actually want to be more like Lini - she doesn't consider her sister's personality aspects particularly valuable, but does lament they are found to be more acceptable and 'proper' by the society they both come from.

She also respects herself, and takes some pride in being that 'scarred-up monster' - but does realise most of the time it's pointless to expect others to see it in the same way. Plus, it gives her plenty of leverage when people are intimidated by her. ;]

As a side note, I guess I should start sorting this under 'mixed media' rather than 'traditional art' because I apply enough Photoshop voodoo that I can't just use the latter category with a straight face…?

I very much like the whole idea, especially that I'm a little of a feminist - but really, your drawing is unique in the way the girl is portrayed; not the flawless, scarless, 'sexy' warrior girl, but the real one.
also, the 'comic' shows that "perfect" is not so perfect after all; there are different kinds of perfect, but not everybody sees that. :)

Great expressions! Hmmm - I'm a bit confused by that last panel though. Since she's nothing like her sister and she doesn't see the value Lini's qualities, it that sarcasm in her last line? Or is that a latent longing to be more accepted like her sister? I like to imagine it's sarcasm - that tension between these characters seems like it could be politely masked by some sharp words instead of a fist fight.

I think I mentioned it below in the description, actually - while she considers the qualities she's listed in her sister as socially more acceptable, and she's happy for her in that regard, that's that - she doesn't wish to have those for herself.

It's good to see her proud of who she is and not just wallowing in self-pity next to her sister. I enjoy art that delves deeper into characters. Of course you have a great array of expressions as always~
